North Carolina's ESA+ is open to registered home schools and pays $9,000 or $17,000 to students with a documented disability. Its parent guide says in plain words that PE products and equipment are not an allowed use of funds. A short list of sensory products is allowed. The Innovations Waiver has an equipment category and a very long waitlist.

Can this fund a Brainrich gym in North Carolina?

NC Innovations Waiver
ATES needs a statement of medical necessity and excludes recreational items a family would normally buy, so a request has to rest on your child's clinical needs. Approval is decided case by case in your child's individual service plan, usually with an OT or PT recommendation attached, and most waivers pay only after regular Medicaid or private insurance has said no. No state approves play equipment automatically. The waitlist is long. Join it now and ask about 1915(i) services, which have no waitlist.

HSA and FSA rules are federal, so North Carolina families follow the same path as everyone else: with a qualifying diagnosis and a Letter of Medical Necessity, a play gym may be eligible.
