The Autism Waiver has the same two categories under a $50,000 yearly cap. Approval is decided case by case in your child's individual service plan, usually with an OT or PT recommendation attached, and most waivers pay only after regular Medicaid or private insurance has said no. No state approves play equipment automatically. Both the Autism Waiver and the Katie Beckett Waiver have waiting lists, so apply early.
